Quite a spectacle

The photographer of a Telugu Daily was slapped by an overenthusiastic policeman when he approached Chief Minister K. Rosaiah for a snap. The Chief Minister had to personally apologise to the scribe.

Jahnavi, the eight-year-old who chaired the Children’s Jury for the International Competition is the daughter of actor Juhi Chawla. Ms.Chawla was seen keenly recording her daughter and other jury members on her cell phone.

•Union Minister for State Choudhury Mohan Jatua addressed the Chief Minister K.Rosaiah as ‘the honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal’ by force of habit, and had everybody in splits.

•Cultural performances included pelvic gyrations to lewd Telugu songs by Geetika, a three-year-old. Ironically, the festival had a panel discussion just the previous day about ‘Exploitation of children in films’.

Everyone wondered if this was not exploitation even while the children in the audience cheered.

•Actor and Chairperson of the Children’s Film Society of India Nandita Das was seen shaking a leg along with Special Invitee Juhi Chawla.
