Young World painting contest today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The finals of The Hindu-Young World Painting Competition 2009, being presented by Lotte Caramilk, will be held at the Government Women’s College auditorium here on Saturday.

Those selected in the preliminary round have been intimated individually. They should report at the venue with the intimation letter. They should also bring painting materials as they have the option to choose the medium of painting they propose to use. Drawing sheets will be provided to them.

The reporting time at the venue is 8.30 a.m. and the competition will start at 9 a.m. The topics which will be different for juniors (classes IV to VII) and seniors (classes VIII to X) will be announced at the venue. The duration of the competition is two hours and the winners will be announced soon after. CEO of Technopark Mervin Alexander, who is the chief guest, will distribute the prizes. Apart from the first three prizes, there are consolation prizes as well. Every prize winner will get a gift hamper from Lotte Caramilk. All finalists will be given participation certificates. Pepsico Cheetos Whoosh is the snack sponsor of the competition.

The competition is being held in Kochi and Kozhikode simultaneously. It was held at 11 centres in the States of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and in Delhi on November 11.
