Single donor platelets Apheresis Machine to be installed in medical colleges Bhopal: In order to check the spread of dengue fever in Madhya Pradesh, the government on Friday announced in the Assembly to install single donor platelets Apheresis Machine for providing platelets to the needy patients free of cost. The machine will be installed within a month in medical colleges at Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Rewa and at the district hospital Ujjain, Health Minister, Anoop Mishra announced in the State Assembly while replying to a calling attention motion. The motion was moved by Dr Govind Singh, Ramniwas Rawat, Ratnesh Solomon and Choudhry Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi of the Congress alleging that the state’s health department has failed to check the spread of Dengue, Malaria and Swine Flu which has now assumed epidemic proportions. So far 4,926 persons were found to be affected with dengue in the state and among them 4840 recovered after treatment while 86 succumbed to the fever which is just 1.7 per cent of the total affected persons, the Minister said. Denying the Congress leader’s allegation, the Minister said the cases of dengue in the month of November have decreased in comparison to the total number of cases reported between January and October this year.- PTI
