Vedike to form regional party

‘KRV will remain as the voice of the people’

HASSAN: The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) is all set to launch a regional party in December. It will organise meetings across the State in this regard soon, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president T.A. Narayana Gowda has said. He was speaking after inaugurating a membership drive of the vedike at the Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bhavan here on Friday.

The name of the regional party would be announced later. The vedike would remain as the voice of the people, while the party would contest elections. It would also contest the elections to the BBMP, he said. He said he would invite all organisations that fought for the cause Kannada to joins the new party. Sangameswara Swamiji of Tanneerhalla Math, district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Udaya Ravi, district president of the vedike Ravindra Gowda, State convener of the women’s wing of the vedike Bharathi Gowda and State convener K.M. Nagendra Babu were present.
