‘I will bring this to the notice of Revenue Minister Karunakara Reddy’ THINTHANI (GULBARGA DT.): Raju Gowda, Surpur MLA, on Friday accused Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa of keeping him in the dark about the function to lay the foundation stone for a project to relocate 200 families affected by the recent floods in the district. Mr. Raju Gowda, a prominent dissident legislator identified with the Reddy brothers, told presspersons at the venue of the function that he was not informed about this function till Friday morning. The district administration did not extend any official invitation to him. “I am here just because the Chief Minister is visiting my constituency and I do not want to send any wrong signal to the people,” he said. He said that he would take this up with the Chief Minister and also bring it to the notice of Revenue Minister G. Karunakara Reddy, Tourism Minister G. Janardhan Reddy, and Health Minister B. Sriramulu. “I do not know why I am being treated like this…. I do not deserve this… I have been a loyal worker of the BJP and never indulged in anti-party activities,” he said. However, the Chief Minister told presspersons later that the incident was not intentional. The function was organised in a hurry and the legislator had not been consulted. “I have explained everything to Mr. Raju Gowda and he is convinced…we are all one there is no difference,” he added. Mr. Raju Gowda formally welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him a bouquet when he arrived here to lay the foundation.
