Minister visits water supply project areas

Chavassery treatment plant to be ready by July



ASSESSMENT: Water Resources Minister N.K. Premachandran visiting the Pazhassi dam site, near Mattannur, in Kannur on Friday.

KANNUR: Water Resources Minister N.K. Premachandran on Friday visited the drinking water supply project areas in the district.

Mr. Premachandran visited the Pazhassi dam site, Keezhallur, Anjarakkandy and Chavassery as part of examining the progress of project works.

K.K. Shylaja, MLA, and Kerala Water Authority (KWA) Superintending Engineer P.V. Gopinathan were among those who accompanied the Minister.

Mr. Premachandran told mediapersons that the Chavassery treatment plant being constructed for solving the drinking water problems being faced by the people in Kannur and Thalassery taluks would be completed by July next year.

He said the drinking water projects for Koothuparamba, Patyam, Payyannur and Kolachery would also be completed by that time.
