BANGALORE: Delhi Public School (South) snatched an exciting two-wicket victory over Town Mahila Samaja English School (Tumkur) in the Boost Cup under-16 inter-school cricket tournament here on Friday. The Tumkur team, which made 100 for one at one stage, collapsed for 142 with K.R. Rohith claiming five wickets for 19 runs. In reply, DPS, though it lost wickets at regular intervals, scampered home. The scorers: Town Mahila Samaja English School (Tumkur) 142 in 32.2 overs (Shahin 43, Venkatesh 37, K.R. Rohith five for 19) lost to Delhi Public School (South) 143 for eight in 39.5 overs (Darshan three for 26). Sadvidya HS (Mysore) 143 in 38.1 overs (K.S. Pavan 44, D.K. Niranjan 29, Gyles Dias three for 13, Aaron Ajith three for 10) lost to Bishop Cotton Boy’s School 146 for six in 35.2 overs (Aaron Ajith 37, Rahul 36 n.o., Karthikeyan 28 n.o., Savin three for 36). St. Joseph’s Boy’s HS 54 in 30.2 overs (P.D. Nitish four for 13) lost to Presidency School B 56 for no loss (D. Nischal 31 n.o.) Saint Eng. School ‘B’ 62 in 32.5 overs (Pradeep four for 10, Virender Singh three for 6) lost to Presidency School (RT Nagar) 64 for three in 16.4 overs. Suchit to leadJ. Suchit of Mysore will lead the Karnataka team in the Vijay Merchant Trophy (South Zone) under-16 cricket tournament which gets underway at Vishakapatnam from November 26. The team: J. Suchit (captain), Nirmal Selvaraj, Prithviraj Singh Shekar, Nihal Shilar, K.N. Bharath, Sashank Hulimath, Raunaq Shah, Y. Karthikeya, Yatish, Daivik Vishwanath, Mir. Mohd. Abbas, Vishnu Prabhas, Samarth Ooty and Sajith G. Shankar. Inter-school footballColumbia Asia inter-school football will be held at Bangalore and Mysore from Saturday. The event has attracted 48 teams. The final will be played on November 28.
