Dec. 31 fixed as deadline to release tuition fee reimbursement
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Rosaiah has set December 31 as the deadline for disbursing the tuition fee re-imbursement and scholarships to the eligible students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, backward classes, minorities and the physically challenged.
He gave an ultimatum to the officials to expedite the disbursement while reviewing the issues relating to these matters here on Friday, so that beneficiaries were in receipt of the amounts by December-end without fail and would be at ease devoid of any tension.
Sources said the amount which the Government would have to disburse before this deadline was estimated roughly at Rs. 800 crore, that being its commitment towards the first quarter of the academic year. The total outgo for the all four quarters of the year would be around Rs. 3,200 crore. The Chief Minister, of late, is reviewing the welfare issues quite often with a view to conveying a clear message to these sections that he will not lag in implementing the schemes and programmes launched by Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy for them, the sources said.
