Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Airtel has slashed roaming rates for users by nearly 60 per cent. Airtel mobile customers who enrol for the Airtel Turbo plan will be charged 60 paise per minute for all incoming calls while roaming. The plan offers local and STD outgoing calls to an Airtel mobile customer while roaming at the same rate while local and STD outgoing calls to another network while roaming will be 80 paise per minute.

Addressing a press conference, Rajiv Rajgopal CEO, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel Limited, Tamil Nadu, said the new offering signalled the death of distance by enabling users to stay connected anywhere in India at economical rates.
