SHIMOGA: A gang of men broke into the premises of Sankara Math here in the early hours of Thursday and took away with ornaments and an idol of Goddess Sarada worth lakhs of rupees. According to the police, the gang took away gold crown and gold chains and other valuable material worth Rs. 5 lakh. The gang entered the premises of Ganapathi and Sarada temples by breaking open the door. A sniffer dog squad was pressed into service. The police visited the spot. A case has been registered at the Kote Police Station. Investigation is on. — Special Correspondent
