Aranmula, Thiruvalla, Adoor champions

Proud winners: The Aranmula SVGV HSS team which won the Oppana competition in the higher secondary section at the district schools arts festival that came to a close at Mezhuvely, near Aranmula, on Friday.

PATHANAMTHITTA: The educational sub-districts of Aranmula (235 points), Thiruvalla (221 points) and Adoor (109 points) became the champions in the higher secondary school (HSS), high school (HS) and upper primary (UP) sections respectively in the district schools arts festival that came to a close at Padmanabhodayam Higher Secondary School at Mezhuvely, near Aranmula, on Friday.

Ranni with 217 points and Thiruvalla with 207 points bagged the second and third positions in the HSS and HS sections, while Pathanamthitta (214 points) and Konni (213 points) educational sub-districts finished second and third in the HSS and HS sections respectively.

In the upper primary section, the educational sub-districts of Konni (103) bagged the second position while Aranmula and Kozhencherry shared the third place by bagging 95 points each.

In the HSS section, SC HSS, Ranni, with 126 points and SVGV HSS with 119 points were the top-scorers, while in the HS section SVGV HSS and St. Teresa’s Bethany Convent School, Chengaroor, with 123 points and 84 points respectively, were adjudged the top-scorers.

In the UP section too SVGV HSS with 48 points became the top-scorer.

District panchayat president A. Santhakumari inaugurated the valedictory function held in the evening.
