Applications invited for training programme

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BEC Study Centre at the Department of English, Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for a training programme for candidates preparing to appear for the Business English Certificate Vantage examination of the University of Cambridge.

The next BEC vantage examination is scheduled for March 19, 2010.

Entrance examination

The entrance examination for admission to the training programme will be held at the college on December 7.

The last date for submitting applications is November 30 and the registration fee is Rs.100.

Since its inception in September 2007, the centre has trained 121 students for the examination.

It has been able to maintain an average pass percentage of 80, a press note said.

A batch comprising doctors, scientists, engineers, software consultants and students is now in the final stages of training for the examination scheduled for November / December.
