Thrissur: The Bhavan’s Cultural Fest began at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Poochatty, on Friday. Speaking after inaugurating the festival, writer M.T. Vasudevan Nair urged the students to participate actively in the cultural competitions. “Art forms are a manifestation of one’s soul. Cultural competitions will help students showcase their latent talents. Such programmes will remain as ever-green memories in their minds,” he said. As many as 3,000 students from 29 schools affiliated to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Kerala and Tamil Nadu have been competing in 87 events in the two-day fete. Competitions will be held in 17 venues. District Collector V.K. Baby; senior vice-chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thrissur, Chitran Namboodirippad; honorary secretary K.S. Unni; and principal Thomas K.
