Chennai: Harinder Pal Sandhu was the lone Indian entrant into the semifinals of the PSA Challenger event at the Indian Squash Academy here on Thursday. Sandhu beat compatriot Gaurav Nandrajog in a hotly-contested quarterfinal despite stiff resistance from the latter. In other quarterfinal action, Ravi Dixit went down fighting to Ahmed Hawas of Egypt, losing in five games, while Naresh Kumar too tasted dust at the hands of Englishman James Snell. Top seed Andrew Wagih Shoukry of Egypt, however, ran through Chong Kam Hing of Malaysia in straight games to make the semifinals. Meanwhile, in the concurrent WISPA Challenger event, sixth seed Anaka Alankamony lost to fourth seed Zoe Petrovansky of Australia, while seventh seed Anwesha Reddy went down in straight games to second seed Fiona Moverley of England.
