NALGONDA: Even as the threat of mosquito-borne diseases particularly dengue and chikungunya is looming large over the district , the non-availability of adequate number of fogging machines has become a major obstacle in effectively checking the menace of mosquitoes mainly in towns like Nalgonda and Suryapet in the district. One person had died of suspected dengue in Penpahad mandal. Viral fevers were also on the rise in various parts of the district mainly due to poor sanitary conditions. Lack of adequate number of fogging machines is hampering the anti-mosquito operations and further aggravating the situation. The Nalgonda Municipality is managing anti-mosquito operations with only two fogging machines.
