“Have diet control”

THANJAVUR: A total of 1,25,000 diabetics were treated as outpatients last year at Thanjavur Medical College Hospital, said P. Ravishankar, Dean, Thanjavur Medical College, here on Saturday.

Speaking at the World Diabetes Day meeting organised by the Department of Diabetology of the Medical College, Dr. Ravishankar said insulin is provided every day to 220 diabetic children at the hospital.

M. S. Shanmugham, Collector, said that complications to vital organs due to diabetes were a matter of concern. Earlier, an awareness rally was flagged off by A. K. Senthilvelan, SP.
