SC Seminary triumphs

Kottayam: SC Seminary HSS, Tiruvalla edged out St. Thomas HSS, Kozhencherry in a thrilling final to lift the boy’s title in the St. Anne’s Trophy all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament at the St Anne’s HSS basketball ground, Kuravilangad on Sunday.

SC Seminary HSS won 63-61. Anil Joseph top scored with 26 points for the winner while Benson Thomas (29 points) was the prominent scorer for St. Thomas.

In the girls’ final, SN Trust, Kollam defeated GV HSS, Villadom 48-26 with Shiji George (32 points) doing the bulk of scoring for the winner. St. Anns HS, Kurianad won the under-17 title after defeating St. Aloysius HSS, Athirampuzha 45-43 in the final.

Boys (final): SC Seminary HSS, Tiruvalla 63(Anil Joseph 26) bt St. Thomas HSS Kozhencherry 61(Benson Thomas 29).

Semifinals: St.Thomas HSS, Kozhencherry 82 (Benson Thomas 22) bt St. Ann’s HSS,Kurinad 72 (Jaison Aby 46); SC Seminary HSS, Tiruvalal 63 (Anil Joseph 10) bt St.Thomas HSS, Pala 32 (Alex 10).

Girls (final): SN Trust HSS, Kollam 48 (Shiji George 32) bt GVHSS, Villaadom 26 (AnuThomas10)

Semifinals: SN Trust HSS, Kollam 39 (Stephy Nixon 14) bt Little Flower HSS, Koratty 18; GVHSS, Villadom 38 (Anu Thomas 18) bt St. Joseph’s HSS, Alapuzha 12.
