Tackling diabetes

This has reference to the article on diabetes (Nov. 14) by V. Mohan. The admirable job of building a park points to the fact that community empowerment still exists in the country. Though the physical challenge a diabetic suffers is in the hands of the Almighty, his willingness to face the challenge is aptly brought out in the bold slogans on the T-shirts. The worthwhile suggestions on tackling this “impartial disease” must be adopted by all concerned. Building a park has a much greater effect than naming a day as “World Diabetes Day.”
