Make best use of nanotechnology: Kalam

Hyderabad: Former President A.P.J Abdul Kalam on Saturday called upon the researchers to make best use of nanotechnology in improving healthcare, aviation and other sectors in the country.

Inaugurating the Centre for Nanotechnology at University of Hyderabad, Dr. Kalam said India was well on the path of being a knowledge society but there was still was much to achieve. “Every time we launch a space satellite, we boast of being third country or fourth country in the world to achieve something. We have this fourth syndrome and I want scientists and researchers to overcome this problem and come up with new achievements,” said Dr. Kalam, amidst cheers from audience in the crammed auditorium.

Delivering a lecture on Dimensions of Nano Science and Technology, the former President defined knowledge as an amalgamation of creativity, righteousness in the mind and courage.

University of Hyderabad Vice-Chancellor, Seyed E. Hasnain and Pro Vice-Chancellor V. Kannan also spoke on the occasion.
