Woman dies in couple’s suicide pact

MYSORE: A woman died and a man is undergoing treatment after they allegedly entered into a suicide pact here on Thursday.

The woman and her fiancé allegedly consumed poison in a house near Surya Bakery in Hebbal.

The police identified the dead as Geetha (30), a resident of Bannimantap.

Alvin, who survived the suicide attempt, is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. He is said to be out of danger.

The police said that Alvin runs a CD shop in front of Geetha’s house. After Geetha reportedly went missing from her house on Tuesday, her family registered a complaint with the police.

On learning about this, the couple consumed poison, the police said.

A case has been registered.
