MAHABUBNAGAR: The Palamuru University NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers have shown their social responsibility by donating their blood to the needy. The NSS cell of the Palamuru University, supported by the Red Cross Society, Mahabubnagar conducted a blood donation camp at the university college on Thursday. The camp was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, V.Gopal Reddy. He congratulated all the student blood donors for being a part of such life-giving activity. Registrar K.Venkatachalam stated that the aim of education will be fulfilled only when students become a part of such social activities. The Principal of the University Baru Vijaykumar informed that the university has 600 NSS volunteers ready to serve the society. University NSS programme coordinator V. Sreenatha Chary and the programme officers Chandra Kiran, Bhumaiah, Md.Suleman, R.Chandrasekhar, D. Hymavathi, M.Arundhati Reddy along with the blood bank medical officer of the Mahabubnagar Red Cross Society Raghavendar were among those who supervised the whole camp. More than 90 volunteers have taken part in this mega blood donation camp.
