Special sitting planned

PUDUCHERRY: The Assembly Secretariat has decided to convene a special sitting to felicitate Chief Minister V. Vaithilingam and Deputy Speaker A.V. Sreedharan on completing 25 years as MLAs.

Speaker R. Radhakrishnan told The Hindu that at a meeting of Legislative Party leaders in the Assembly on Tuesday, it was decided to honour Mr. Vaithilingam and Mr. Sreedharan. Both of them would be completing 25 years by March next, he said.

The Secretariat planned to invite Lok Sabha Speaker Meera Kumar to felicitate the leaders, Mr. Radhakrishnan said.
