Pune firm to construct Block B of Assembly

CHENNAI: The Public Works Department’s Tender Award Committee has chosen the Pune-based Vascon Engineering for constructing an eight-storeyed building, Block B, as part of the Assembly-Secretariat project. While the estimated cost of construction is Rs.206.59 crore, the cost sanctioned by the committee for this component is Rs.210.94 crore. Work order for the company is likely to be issued shortly, according to a senior official of the department. The proposed building, with ground plus seven floors, will have a plinth area of about 7,43,900 sq. ft. It will accommodate about 30 government departments.
