CHENNAI: Volunteers of All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, led by party MP V.Maitreyan, staged a slogan-shouting demonstration in front of the Chennai Collectorate here on Wednesday demanding the State government to restore the Rs. 30 subsidy to single-bottle LPG connections, which was withdrawn a few weeks ago by the State.
The demonstrators also urged the government to ensure supply of 10 litres of kerosene to cardholders, who were having single-bottle LPG connections.
P.K.Sekar Babu, MLA inaugurating the demonstration said the gas price was increased 9 times within a span of 10 years and the withdrawal of subsidy would further increase the price.
