Big win for Don Bosco

Don Bosco High School scored a 12-0 win over St. Ann’s School (Secunderabad) in the Hyderabad District School Games Federation basketball tournament here.

The results: Basketball: Boys: Under-17: Sreenidhi HS bt Defence Labs HS 11-7; Meridian HS bt All Saint’s 11-6; Obul Reddy HS bt Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan PS 12-0; HPS Begumpet bt St. Mark’s Boys Town 19-10. Under-14: APSWRS bt Don Bosco 11-3.

DRK College wins thriller

DRK Engineering College scored an exciting 38-37 win over Mahavir College of Engineering 38-37 in the CCOB inter-college basketball tournament at City College here.

The scores: DRK Engineering College 38 (Srinivas 14, Mahesh Babu 11) bt Mahavir College of Engineering (Solomon 15, Praveen 12).

Eight share lead

S. Yakshiraj of Howard Public School along with seven others was leading with three points at the end of three rounds in the Gurus Children’s inter-school chess tournament organised by Jayaprada Chess Academy here.

The others in lead were S.S.V. Aditya (Gitanjali), K. Koushik (St. Pious), P. Siddarth (Chirec), Vedant Aggarwal (Chirec), Nishant (Tejaswi Vidyalaya), S.B.S. Kalyan (DAV Public School) and G.V.V.S. Rao (Howard).

In the junior girls category, K.S. Jayalakshmi (Meridian), Mansi Agarwal (Nasr), Kushala (Little Flower), Kirti Sreya (Oakridge), Kavya Sristi (Oakridge) are leading with three points each at the end of three rounds.

Kunal cracks ton

Kunal’s 100 helped Mony Labs record a narrow, four-run win over Country Over.com in the Associated Corporate Cup cricket tournament here.
