Kalmadi re-elected
GUANGZHOU: Suresh Kalmadi was on Tuesday elected unopposed as the President of the Asian Athletics Association (AAA) for a third term. Maurice Nicholas of Singapore was also re-elected Secretary-Treasurer.
The ‘Asian Coach of the year’ awards were presented during the second Congress of the Association of Asian Athletics Coaches on Tuesday.
Shunji Karube and Shigenobu Murofushi of Japan and Songli Liang and Kuigang Ye of China were awarded for the year 2008.
Tarek Sabt (Bahrain) and Ms. Zhu Fengling (China were awarded for the current year. — Special Correspondent
