Bomb kills 30 in NWFP

Nirupama Subramanian

ISLAMABAD: A suicide car bomb in the North-West Frontier Province town of Charsadda killed at least 30 people and left more than 40 wounded on Tuesday.

Police said a suicide attacker detonated 40 kg of explosives packed in a car in the town’s main intersection at about 4.30 p.m.

This is the third bombing in as many days in NWFP. The provincial capital Peshawar was hit by deadly suicide attacks on Sunday and Monday. Charsadda is 40 km from Peshawar. The relentless wave of bombings has caused fear and panic across the country, and badly affected businesses, with people preferring to stay home or stay away from crowded markets.
