KSP to meet MEG in final

Arch-rivals Karnataka State Police (KSP) and Madras Engineering Group (MEG) set up a title clash in the State Senior ‘A’ Division volleyball league championship.

In the Super league here on Monday, KSP outclassed Postal 25-17, 25-19, 25-20 in 55 minutes of action while MEG proved equally ruthless in demolishing Jindal Steel Works, Bellary, winning 25-17, 25-21, 25-11.

MEG was full of power with a couple of new comers in its fold. Aiyappan and Sachin began with a flourish before Prince and Vinod took over to simply drill holes in the JSW defence.

For the Bellary side Vishwanath and Manjunath played well only in patches.

In the earlier contest, KSP looked in a hurry against former champion Postal. With Ravindra and Sanoj packing power in their spikes and Karthik coming good in the blocking, KSP enjoyed the lead right through barring a short while in the third set.

Laxminarayan did execute some good smashes for Postal but got little support from the others as Abhijit had a miserable day.

Postal made it to the super league as the third team from group ‘B’.
