Indians win 10 medals

HYDERABAD: Indian rowers put up a fine performance winning three gold, three silver and four bronze in the Asian junior and senior rowing championship held in Taiwan recently, according to C.P. Singh Deo, president of the Rowing Federation of India. Bajrang Lal retained the title that he won in 2007.

The medallists:

Men: Single scull: Bajrang Lal Takhar (gold). Junior coxless pair: Rakesh Raliya & Mukesh Kumar (gold). Junior coxless four: Yasin Khan, Sanjay Kholiya, Davinder Singh & Prasanth Prasadan Nair (gold). Lightweight double sculls: Shokendar Tomar & Sandeep Kumar (silver).

Coxless fours: Inderpal Siwatch, Narender Singh Yadav, Anil Kumar and Ranjit Singh (silver). Coxed eights: Saji Thomas, Jenil Krishnan, Sukhjeet Singh, Gurdarshan Singh, Inderpal Siwatch, Narender Singh Yadav, Anil Kumar, Ranjit Singh and Giriraj Singh (silver). Quadruple sculls: Devendar Kumar Khandwal, Kumar Anil Mehroliya, Rajesh Kumar Yadav and Manjeet Singh (bronze).

Women: Junior coxless fours: Nitya Joseph, Debaladevi Khumanthem, Nimmy Mulackal Thomas and Mithali Deo (bronze). Quadruple sculls: Priyadevi Changamayum, Meena Toppo, Thara Kurian and Dittymol Varghese (bronze). Junior coxless pairs: Pramila Prava Minz & Pratima Puhana (bronze).
