ULFA bandh hits life in Assam

Special Correspondent

GUWAHATI: Life in Assam was affected on Monday by the 12-hour bandh called by the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) to demand the unconditional release of two of its leaders.

There was, however, no report of any untoward incident.

In the city, shops and business establishments downed their shutters.

Educational institutions, banks and petrol depots remained closed. Very few vehicles plied. Attendance in government offices was thin. Life in other parts of the State was also affected.
