Jandardhan Reddy meets Yeddyurappa

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Rebel leader and Tourism Minister G. Janardhan Reddy met Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in the city late on Monday night.

It is the first time that both the leaders are meeting each other after they patched up in Delhi in the presence of BJP central leaders. The meeting took place after Mr. Reddy held a lengthy consultation with Speaker Jagadish Shettar, along with the MLAs in the rebel camp, who had just returned from a resort in Hyderabad.

After the meeting with the Chief Minister, Mr. Reddy told presspersons: “We will work united like father and sons.” Observing that the political crisis should not have taken place in the State, he said he would ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.

Mr. Reddy said he would join hands with Mr. Yeddyurappa for the welfare of the State and the effective rehabilitation of people in flood-affected areas. When asked about the dent caused to the party’s image due to the dissident activities Mr. Reddy said, “We would now work day and night to make up for all the lapses”.
