VISAKHAPATNAM: Palle Pilupu, a programme being conducted by the district administration to provide service to the rural people at their door step and ensure transparency and efficiency in implementation of Government programmes and works, would commence on Tuesday. Collector J. Syamala Rao said at a press conference on Monday, that the functioning of schools, welfare hostels, ration shops, Government offices, implementation of NREGS and other schemes would be covered under Palle Pilupu. The programme would be held on every Tuesday in every mandal and covering two or three gram panchayats. In a period of three to four months, every village would be covered. The programme was originally scheduled to be held on every Wednesday, but was shifted to Tuesday as NREGS payments are being held on Wednesdays. Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Praja Parishad P.A. Shobha would coordinate the programme in the district. The core team for each mandal consists of a district-level officer and MDO and Tahsildar of the mandal. This team would tour the mandal. Officers of the department concerned would be involved whenever needed. Guidelines of the programme were available on the district website . Joint Collector in-charge S. Satyanarayana, District Revenue Officer D.V. Reddy and others were present.
