Wage hike for TNEB employees

CHENNAI: Electricity Minister, Arcot N. Veeraswami, on Monday announced a wage hike of over 40 per cent in the pay scales for the employees of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB). The wage revision would benefit 76,000 employees and 84,000 pensioners.

Addressing press persons at the TNEB headquarters, Mr. Veeraswami said the new wage revision would come into effect from December 1, 2007, and the wage arrears would be paid in three equal instalments, with the first instalment to be paid in December first week.

The second instalment would be paid in April 2010 and the last instalment in April 2011.
