THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The University of Kerala has, in a press note here on Monday, appealed to students and parents not to be alarmed by news reports about the loss of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recognition for its teacher education colleges. The university has speeded up measures to expand the infrastructure in these colleges. Much progress has been achieved on the issue of the colleges owning the property they stand on. The teacher education colleges of the university are institutions that adhere to the highest standards of education. The university will also probe the possibility of some forces trying to tarnish the image of these institutions. The university has taken steps to convey to the NCTE with greater clarity all these points. Since all steps are being taken to reinstate the recognition for these institutions, there need not be any cause for alarm, the press note added.
