Dry day ahead of polls

HYDERABAD: The Commissioner of Excise on Monday, in a meeting with Sate Election Commissioner on the forthcoming GHMC elections, informed that the belt shops located in the surrounding municipality areas, which were merged in GHMC would be ordered to close down with immediate effect.

As per the provisions of the AP Municipal Corporations Act, complete dry day has to be observed 48 hours before the conclusion of the polls and also on the counting day.
