NALGONDA: Even as the stage is set for taking up the no-confidence motion moved by a section of the Congress municipal councillors against the Nalgonda municipal vice-chairman Mujaheed Ali of the same party on November 12, the supporters of the latter have intensified last ditch efforts to counter the move. The internal rivalries between a section of the influential leaders of the party in the district headquarters have reportedly led to the precarious situation. According to sources, the supporters of Mujaheed Ali led by the Congress councillor Ch. Govardhan have already met the senior party leaders in Hyderabad and apprised them of the situation arising out of the no-confidence motion moved by none other than the party own councillors against the vice-chairman. They have reportedly told the senior leaders that the no-confidence motion would send wrong signals and adversely affect the image of the party ahead of the next municipal elections. Some of the senior Congress leaders of the district those opposing the no-confidence motion have reportedly stepped up their efforts to seek the intervention of the party State leadership to save the vice-chairman post.
