Madhurjya ousts Sanjib

KOLKATA: Unseeded Madhurjya Dutta of Assam ousted second seeded Sanjib Kerketta in the under-18 boys’ singles pre-quarterfinals of the AITA talent series at the Cossipore Club here on Monday.

The results: AITA Boys under-18 singles (pre-quarterfinals): Harry Jindal bt Innocent Lalrindika 6-1, 6-4; Nikunj Poddar bt Jaffer Javed 6-2, 6-3; Raghav Khullar bt Md. Kamran Ali 6-4, 6-2; M. Sarfaraz bt Richie Agarwal 7-6(3), 6-2; Zaid Ali Akhtar bt Sunil Palai 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-1; Madhurjya Dutta (Asm) bt Sanjib R. Kerketta 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Under-14 singles (first round): Z.A. Akhtar bt Nitin Sinha 6-0, 7-5; M. Khalique bt Souradeep Mukhopadhyaya 6-3, 6-3; Raghav Nevatia bt Clinton Mullick 6-0, 6-0; Tenzing Bhutia bt M.
