IOB, KSEB in the fray

MADURAI: The Blue Sky Volleyball Club will conduct an all-India invitation volleyball tournament for men and women at Iyer Bungalow, Madurai, from November 13 to 15.

In the men’s section, Indian Overseas Bank, Kerala State Electricity Board, Karnataka State Police and Andhra Pradesh Volleyball Association will take part.

Southern Railway, Kerala State Electricity Board, GKM Foundation and Kovai Youth will be in the fray in the women’s category. The tournament will be played on a league basis.

Madurai boxers in team

Seven pugilists from Madurai — T. Sivatamilselvi, S. Umapriya, B. Satya, V. Muthumari, B. Venkateswari, S. Ponnalaku and S.N. Sudha — will be part of the Tamil Nadu team in the junior national boxing championship for girls at Patna from November 10 to 14, according to a press release from M. Baskaraseliyan, secretary of Madurai District Boxing Association.
