Economic City: records in court custody

Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The original records pertaining to the land allotment to the extent of nearly 2,000 acres pertaining to Hyderabad Economic City, near Hyderabad are now in the custody of the High Court in sealed covers.

The bench comprising Justice G. Raghuram and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan on Monday ordered that the records produced by the APIIC and the State government be kept in the court. The Bench was hearing final arguments in a writ petition filed by Lingala Panduranga Reddy.

The petitioner challenged the allotment of prime land near Patancheru , Hyderabad in favour of Ras-Al-Khaimah. He termed the whole exercise as fraud. On an earlier occasion, the Bench called for records and they were produced on Monday. The Bench wanted to know whether there was any appraisal by any expert on the project proposals. The case is being heard every day in the after noon session.
