PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry unit of Communist Party of India on Monday criticised the territorial administration for not maintaining the drainage canals properly. Addressing a press conference here National Council Member of CPI R. Viswanathan said that the main cause of inundation in the town and its suburbs was due to clogging of drainage canals. Though the government had promised to de-silt all major canals before the onset of monsoon, it was not done, he added.
