Road roko staged

KARUR: Irate residents of Veluchamypuram staged a road roko on the Karur-Erode road here on Monday, flaying irregular functioning of the fair price shop in their area.

They claimed that there were around 1,800 cardholders attached to the shop but the employees were not regular in opening the shop. Even on Monday the shop remained closed forcing the people to come to the road. After the police pacified the people, the crowd dispersed. Traffic was disrupted for close to half an hour on Karur-Erode Road following the road roko.
