CUDDALORE: Owing to heavy rainfall in the last four days the mining of lignite and electricity generation in the Neyveli Lignite Corporation have suffered a setback. As on Monday the power generation was in the region of 1,400 MW as against the installed capacity of 2,490 MW. On Sunday the NLC management switched off the conveyor belt system (that carries lignite to the thermal stations) because of wet condition. The conveyor belt system was restarted on Monday morning and the power generation was being scaled up.
