TIRUNELVELI: A Plus Two student died and another one sustained serious injuries in a road accident here on Monday. Police said Akram Raza of Srivaikuntam, student of a school near the district court complex at Palayamkottai, and his classmate Steve of Madurai, who is staying in a mansion at Samadhanapuram, were returning home in a bike on Monday evening. As a speeding Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus, proceeding from Tirunelveli to Udankudi, hit the two-wheeler, both the students sustained serious injuries. While Steve was declared dead on being brought to the hospital, Akram Raza had been admitted to a private hospital with serious injuries. His condition was said to be critical. Police have arrested the bus driver Jegajothi.
