Cash seized from check post officials

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday seized unaccounted amount of Rs.36,920 from the possession of the Penukonda transport check post officials and agents/brokers following a surprise check.

It was conducted on information that the check post staff were indulging in corrupt practices and collecting heavy ‘mamools’.

A press release issued by ACB here said the officials seized the attendance/personal cash/duty registers of the check post for further verification. -Special Correspondent
