Special study modules to be prepared by experts Select students to lead class-level programmes KOZHIKODE: The Vijayotsavam Programme of the district panchayat, which aims at improving SSLC results by giving coaching to the students to enable them to score good marks, will be launched on November 30 at Naduvannur Government Higher Secondary School. This was decided on Monday at a workshop of the core committee that has been constituted to guide this programme. The emphasis of Vijayotsavam this year would be on improving students’ performance in arithmetic, English, social sciences, chemistry and physics. Special study modules would be prepared in these subjects by experts. These would be used in classrooms to upgrade students’ skills. Class-level study programmes would be led by group leaders selected from among students. Training would be given to students to lead the programmes. There would be a convener for Vijayotsavam in each school. A district-level training camp would be held for them at Vengeri on November 16. There would be a special programme, also led by students, for the children who perform poorly in the first term examinations. The student-leaders of these programmes would also be given special training. The meeting of the core group was inaugurated Vinod Babu, Deputy Director (Education). K.K. Sivadasan, convener of the education committee of the district panchayat, presided over the meeting.
