Painting contest for students

Bijapur: As part of the “Save Heritage” campaign, the Heritage Club of SB Arts and KCP Science College and the Arya Trust in association with the Forum of Young Artists have organised an on-the-spot painting competition for schoolchildren on November 14 on the terrace of Lal Bahadur Shastri Market here.

The competition will be held in three categories — for students studying in LKG to IV Standard, V to VII standards and VIII to X standards.

The themes are: Any subject (for students in LKG to IV Standard), Nature or environment (for those in V to VII standards) and Protection of monuments (for those in VIII to X standards).

Drawing sheets will be supplied by the organisers. Students will have to bring painting material.

Three best paintings will be selected from each category and given a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 500, Rs. 300 and Rs. 200, each, according to honorary president of Arya Trust H.G. Daddi and secretary of Heritage Club R.H. Bidari in a press release. Registration is free. School authorities may send as many entries as possible in each category.
