Workshop on research opportunities

KOCHI: The need to bring industry and academic institutions together for research projects was emphasised by G.D.Yadav, Director, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, at a workshop on opportunities of government funded research and development projects, organised by the Toc H Engineering College, Arakkunnam.

The country requires world class scientists and engineers to support its scientific and technical programmes.

Role of institutions

Academic institutions will have to play a major role in realising the goal, the Director of the Mumbai institute said. P.J.Joseph, president, Toc H Institute of Science & Technology, Shiva Prasad, Secretary, Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research, New Delhi, K.Gopalakrishnan, National Design and Research Forum, Bangalore, Job Kuruvilla, Principal, TIST, were among those who spoke at the workshop.
