Snake enters house

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: A five-foot-long snake that had coiled up behind a refrigerator at a house in Kodungaiyur on Saturday was rescued by Fire and Rescue Service personnel and let into a forest area.

Fire and Rescue Services sources said the snake had slithered into the house of Arjunan in B block on Ezhil Nagar 3rd Street around 6 p.m. as the area was inundated. He and his family members saw it entering the house but lost track of it. Firemen from Korukkupet fire station came and after a 45-minute search found the snake behind the compressor compartment of the refrigerator. It was caught and let into an open area far away, sources added.
