Sagaria scores four goals

NEW DELHI: Miguel Sagaria scored four goals to guide Jindal-Elevation to the title with a thrilling 8-7 victory over Equisport-Classic in the final of the Maharaja Hari Singh memorial 12-goal polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here on Sunday.

Simran Shergill scored two goals for the winner, but it was he who opened the scoring and provided the finishing touch in the last chukker. Bhawani Kalvi also scored two goals for the champion side, which had trailed 4-5 at the end of the second chukker.

Shamsheer Ali fought valiantly for the loser, by smashing five goals, and had able support from Abhimanyu Pathak who struck two goals.

The Reid and Taylor Indian Open polo championship will begin on Wednesday. — Special Correspondent
