Huge theft of electricity

Bhopal: In a severe blow to energy sector reforms underway in Madhya Pradesh, electricity worth crores of rupees has been stolen from the main supply lines through 3,000 odd privately purchased transformers in rural areas, under the limits of MP Central Power Distribution Company Limited .

The huge theft, with the help of transformers installed clandestinely on the supply line has come at a time when three discoms are struggling to bring down their huge distribution losses. - PTI
